You know what the first thing was that passed through my mind when they showed Juliet the video? It's prerecorded. The whole thing looked so planned, so coordinated. Yes, they had today's newspaper to prove the date--but why would they need to prove the date? Those are the actions of one who is hiding something--offering up proof before it's asked for. And we know that there's
something funky they can do with time. Ben went there with a purpose, knowing that now was the time he needed Juliet to be one of "us".
(That's what the scene and his behavior said to me, of course... but if it was prerecorded, even supposing they could get a newspaper with any date on it, how would they know to get that specific date? Doesn't quite add up, unfortunately. I'm still suspicious, though.)
And I have to say that I would have enjoyed the ending a
lot more if they had succeeded in convincing me that Juliet was on the level. Unfortunately, it wasn't as big of a shock because they made it ambiguous, or even less so--she had that "Henry Gale" smile on the entire time, and she totally played Sayid and Sawyer (and they knew it, too). Not that it was bad, though. It even verified that Juliet was the one Kate saw, with the blue shirt.
One more thing: implant in Claire? They must have been planning this for a
long time. If Juliet was lying, then what exactly did they want with Claire? I'm really surprised that they're not more fascinated with her--she gave birth successfully on the island!
Okay, two more things. What else might have been in that case--hidden underneath the padding, maybe--hmm? And what was that symbol by the tree. It looked a bit familiar--although I might just be thinking of the numbers in Riven, which look slightly similar but are definitely different.
That reminds me, another thing reminded me of Myst--the last scene of the submarine from above, as they're walking away. Change that into a spaceship, and you're on Myst island!
Woo, what a twist that would be.
